Frequently Asked Questions
Boiler Pressure & Error Codes
Why is my boiler showing ‘EA’, ‘E9’, or a fault code?
This often means the condensate pipe has frozen, especially in winter. You may also see faults if pressure is low or gas supply is disrupted.
What pressure should my Worcester Bosch boiler be?
Between 1.0 and 1.5 bar when cold. If it's below 1, the boiler might not start. It may rise to 2.0–2.5 bar when hot — that’s normal.
Can I top up the pressure myself?
Yes — most boilers have a filling loop or internal key. Top it up slowly to 1.2 bar and close the valves. See our videos if unsure.
My boiler keeps losing pressure — what now?
If you're topping it up more than every few months, there could be a leak or valve issue. We can diagnose it safely.
Common Worcester Bosch Fault Codes
Here are some safe checks you can do if your boiler shows one of these errors:
- EA: No flame detected – check gas supply, reset boiler.
- E9: Overheat or pump fault – switch off and allow to cool.
- LOPR: Low pressure – top up via filling loop to 1.2 bar.
- C6: Fan or air issue – try a reset; if repeated, call us.
- D1: Sensor issue – reset boiler and monitor.
If the same code keeps returning, give us a call on 0116 278 8222.
Heating or Hot Water Not Working
🚿 Hot water but no heating?
Check the thermostat is turned up and the programmer is set to 'heating on'. If radiators are cold, make sure valves are open and try a boiler reset.
🔥 Heating works, but some radiators stay cold
Try bleeding the cold radiators to release trapped air. If one end stays cold, the valve may be stuck. Give it a gentle tap or call us for advice.
🛠️ No heating or hot water at all?
Start by checking boiler power, gas supply, and pressure (aim for 1.2 bar). If the display shows a fault code, check our Fault Code section or contact us.
🌡️ Hot water runs hot, then cold
This could be a faulty sensor or restricted heat exchanger. Try reducing tap flow slightly. If it continues, we can investigate safely.
⚠️ Boiler keeps turning off randomly
This may be caused by an airlock, pump fault or system flow issue. Bleed radiators, check pressure, and don’t keep resetting if the problem returns.
🔁 Should I reset the boiler?
Yes — as long as there are no leaks or smells and the boiler appears safe. Press the reset button once and wait. If the issue repeats, call us.
🔌 Should I turn the boiler off?
If it’s showing signs of overheating, leaking, or making loud noises — yes. Turn it off at the mains and give us a ring straight away.
💡 Can I still get hot water another way?
If you have a hot water cylinder with an immersion heater switch, you may be able to use that temporarily. It's usually labelled “Immersion” near the airing cupboard.
Boiler Servicing
🧰 How much is a boiler service?
£70 — this includes a full safety check, pressure test, flue analysis, and visual inspection. It usually takes 20–30 minutes.
📅 How often should I get it serviced?
Every 12 months. This keeps your boiler safe, efficient, and under warranty with most manufacturers.
🛡️ Will I lose my warranty if I skip a service?
Yes — most boiler brands (including Worcester Bosch) require an annual service to keep your guarantee valid.
📘 What’s included in a Heat Leicester service?
We check gas pressure, flue safety, system condition, and carry out a full visual and operational inspection. You’ll receive a digital certificate when complete.
🏠 Do I need to be home for the service?
Yes — we’ll need access to the boiler, any controls, and a working power supply. Someone over 18 should be present.
📞 How do I book a service?
You can book online, call us on 0116 278 8222, or email heat.leicester@gmail.com.
New Boiler Installation
🔧 How long does it take to fit a new boiler?
Most boiler swaps take 1–2 days. If it’s a system upgrade (e.g. converting from a tank to a combi), it might take an extra day.

Yes — use our instant quote tool to get a fast, accurate estimate.
🧾 Do you offer finance?
Yes — we offer 0% finance on Worcester Bosch boiler installs (1–2 years) with just a 25% deposit. No hidden fees.
🛡️ What guarantee do I get?
Most Worcester Bosch boilers come with a 10–12 year guarantee when fitted by Heat Leicester and serviced annually.
🔥 Can I extend the guarantee to 14 years?
Yes — take out HeatCare+ when we install your boiler, and your Worcester Bosch system can be covered for up to 14 years with annual servicing.
👷 Who will install my boiler?
One of our direct engineers — no contractors. Our team has over 25 years of experience and all engineers are Gas Safe registered.
📦 Do you remove the old boiler?
Yes — we’ll safely disconnect and dispose of your old boiler, pipework, and controls. Everything is tidied and waste is taken away.
Boiler Guarantees
🛡️ How long is the guarantee — and what’s included?
All our Worcester Bosch boiler installations come with a 10–12 year manufacturer guarantee as standard. If you add HeatCare+ at installation, you can extend this to up to 14 years of full boiler cover.
To keep your guarantee valid, your boiler must be serviced annually. We’ll remind you each year — and yes, we register your guarantee for you after installation.
The guarantee covers the boiler itself — including all internal components. It does not cover system issues like radiators, sludge, scale, wiring faults or thermostats.
If you move house, the guarantee stays with the boiler — the new homeowner will still be protected.
